E-Type Series III

Specification

The Series III was the first version of the E-Type to receive a V12 engine. Earlier models were powered by inline 6-cylinder engines. The new 5.3-liter V12 engine produced around 272 horsepower (202 kW) and 400 Nm of torque. Thanks to this, the E-Type gained more power and smoothness, making it easier to cover long distances while maintaining high sports performance.

Description

The introduction of the V12 engine also required adjustments to the rest of the design. The suspension was slightly modified to better handle the new engine’s power and weight. The front axle was more balanced, and the rear suspension was tuned to improve ride comfort while maintaining dynamic driving performance.

In Series III, the body design was also changed compared to earlier versions of the E-Type. While it still featured the signature long front hood, the car became more ‘oversized’—with wider fenders, larger bumpers, and a more streamlined shape. The cabin also changed, with wider seats and new interior finishes, offering greater comfort and convenience.

The Cabriolet version, thanks to the larger body, was more comfortable and spacious, which was highly appreciated by new buyers.
